REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY FOR WORK AND HOLIDAY

Have a valid passport from one of the eligible countries. The passport must be valid for more than the length of stay in South Korea.

You must be between 18 and 30 years old.

Have at least 3 Million KRV plus the return flight ticket or the amount to be able to purchase it.

  • Not having participated in a Working Holiday.
  • Not having had any visa denied or cancelled.
  • The application must be made at the consulate in your home country.

    – Comply with health requirements. They could ask for a medical examination.

    – Meet character requirements.

    – Sign South Korea’s declaration of values.

    – Make the payment of the application.

  • No one can be added to your visa.
  • Medical insurance: You must have medical insurance that covers your entire stay.
  • Criminal Record: No criminal record.

NECESSARY DOCUMENTATION

A copy of your passport pages. This should show the details of your information, including the date of issue, the expiration date of your passport and two blank pages.

Fill in the form with the required information.

Recent less than 6 months old (45mm x 35mm), to be attached to the application form.

You have to show the highest certificate you have. The lowest accepted would be high school.

This can be requested from your primary care physician, who should indicate that you are in good health.

Declaration that you have no criminal record and that you are willing to abide by the laws and regulations of South Korea during your stay. You will need to use this document.

It can be a bank statement showing the balance, income tax return, last paychecks, etc. You should have at least approximately 3 million KRW.

You have to prove that you have medical insurance that covers your entire stay.

BENEFITS OF OBTAINING A WORKING HOLIDAY

STAY: Stay up to 12 months in the country from the date of arrival.

MULTI-ENTRY: Once you have entered the country and your visa has been activated, you can enter and leave the country as many times as you wish.

WORK: You can work during the time of your stay, but depending on your country of origin, you will have temporary limitations to work with the same employer.

STUDIES: Depending on your country of origin you may have different limitations. Some countries allow a maximum of 3 months of study, others 6 months and others have no limitation.

The procedures to apply for the Working Holiday Visa are only done in person at the Consulate of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in your country of origin by appointment.

The visa cannot be applied for by mail, fax, outside agencies or other family representatives.
